A one-time bad girl comes home to small-town Oregon in the first in a sexy, heartfelt new series from USA TODAY bestselling author Maisey Yates…

Sadie Miller isn’t expecting any welcome-home parades on her return to Copper Ridge. Least of all from part-time rancher, full-time lawman Eli Garrett. The straight-laced, impossibly hot deputy sheriff glares at her like she’s the same teenage hoodlum who fled town ten years ago. But running from her demons has brought Sadie full circle, ready to make a commitment at last. Not to a man, but to a B and B. On Garrett land. Okay, so her plan has a tiny flaw…

Eli works too hard to let a blonde ball of trouble mess up his town. But keeping an eye on Sadie makes it tough to keep his hands off her. And if she’s so wrong for him, why does being with her feel so right?

My Review

I've noticed most other reviewers put an overview about what the book is about to into it - so I thought I'd give it a go. (This could go badly... I'll do my best to not do spoilers)

Sadie Miller is back in her home town Copper Ridge to face the demons of teenage-days-past after fleeing 10 years ago. What she didn't expect is the explosive attraction she has towards Officer Hottie Deputy Sheriff Eli Garret, brother of her new landlord. Eli didn't expect such chemistry either, and only time will tell if his controlling and OCD tendencies will be able to take Sadie's free spirit.

I thoroughly enjoyed Part Time Cowboy! The voices of Eli and Sadie we so fun to read and I found myself laughing at one thing or another on just about every page. I couldn't put the book down and read it one sitting. If I'm being completely honest, Yates' awesome writing wasn't the only thing that kept the book glued to my nose. It may have had something to do with Eli and the sexy man-beast that he is. ;) I mean sure, he's a little broken, but was girl doesn't love that? And ABS - get ready for his awesome-sauce ones, ladies! I feel like maybe there should be something about Sadie here, but my brain has melted a little from thinking about Eli, and I think, more than anyone, she would completely understand - she's awesome like that.

One downer was the confusion I had with character names. Sadie's friends has husbands are named Jared and Jake (one awesome at the title, the other, not so much) and then Eli has a friend named Jack. Jake Jared Jack. THEY LOOK TOO MUCH ALIKE! Maybe the moral of the story is that I should read words more carefully, but when devouring a book that has its hooks in you, like this one did me, there just isn't the time!

Basically, things I took away from Part Time Cowboy is that Yates writes a damn sexy man fit to be your next book boyfriend (form a queue!) and that if you haven't read it, it better be next on your TBR pile!
