A DANGEROUS PROPOSAL
Las Vegas Mafia boss, Nico Toscani, is used to getting what he wants, whether it is having the City of Sin under his rule or a beautiful woman in his bed. But when he meets his match in the gorgeous, headstrong Mia Cordano, the daughter of a rival crime lord, all bets are off. . .
Sexy computer hacker, Mia, struggles to break free of her ruthless father’s Mafia ties…but she can’t resist the powerful and seductive Nico, who will stop at nothing to possess her. With their families locked in a brutal war for control of the city, Mia and Nico enter into a forbidden game. Will they surrender to the passion that burns between them—and risk tearing apart their families? Or will Nico be forced to betray the only woman who sets his blood on fire?
Nico is the first book in a full-length, standalone series by New York Times bestselling author, Sarah Castille, set in Las Vegas and featuring deliciously sexy mafia bosses and the women who can’t help but love them.
About the Author
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Sarah Castille, writes contemporary erotic romance and romantic suspense featuring blazingly hot alpha males and the women who tame them. She is the author of the Redemption series, the Sinner’s Tribe MC series, and the Legal Heat series. A recovering lawyer and caffeine addict, she worked and travelled abroad before trading in her briefcase and stilettos for a handful of magic beans and a home on Vancouver Island.
So I read this little gem when I was supposed to be studying for my exams (shhh, don't tell anyone!), but reading Nico was a way better use of my time.
There is so many things to love about this novel, I don't know where to start. So there's Mia; strong, sexy, brave, killer with a computer, caring, kind, and pretty much just has one massive set of lady-balls on her. What more could you want from an MC? If it wasn't for her Mafia connections, she is everything that I hope to be as a function adult.
Ah, the Mafia. If it wasn't for those connections, she probably never would've met Nico. Smart, deadly, stubborn, ripped, but with a secretly kind heart, it's near impossible not to fall him right along side Mia. There were moments when all I wanted to do was slap him upside the head with a smelly, limp fish, but with the switching POVs between Mia and him, I was able to see where he was coming from with some of his decisions (but I do not have to like them!).
A list of characters I want to slap silly with a smelly, limp fish*:
...it's quite the list now that I see it written down. There are probably a few more if I were to bring other minor characters into consideration. But, this doesn't mean that I hated the book. Au contraire mon cheri, the fact that Casrille could make me feel so strongly about all these characters - even the less significant ones - is what makes it awesome in my book. (<- haha see what I did there?)
- Mia's father and brother - possibly her mother... maybe her sister, too. Basically Mia's whole family is pretty screwed up.
- Tony Toscani
- Charlie Nails
Basically what it comes down to is this; read Nico. You won't be sorry that you did.
*I have no idea why I have all these sudden urges to slap people with smelly, limp fishes, but I'm just going to roll with it. (It might have something to do with the fact that whenever I think Mafia, I think of the phrase, 'Sleeping with the fishes'... who knows?)
